ExxonMobil's annual energy outlook

ExxonMobil's energy outlook is developed each year from detailed analysis of approximately 100 countries, 15 demand sectors and 20 fuel types. It is underpinned by economic and population projections, as well as our expectations for considerable energy efficiency gains. The outlook reflects a variety of factors affecting the use of particular energy types, including economics, supply availability and potential policy initiatives.

Demand estimates are linked to ExxonMobil’s supply outlook for oil and natural gas, developed using in-house expertise with input from respected third-parties. They reflect our view of the resource base, along with development prospects around the world, and consider economics and likely ongoing advances in technology.
