Malaria Control Program

ExxonMobil has the most comprehensive Malaria Control Program of any operator in Africa, covering both employees and contractors. The program combats malaria through awareness, bite prevention, antimalarial medication, and early diagnosis and treatment. Over the last three years, we successfully decreased the number of malaria cases among our employees and contractors.

In 2007, we recorded no cases of malaria among our (nonimmune) expatriate employees, and there were no reported cases of serious malaria among our national (semi-immune) employees. ExxonMobil business travelers to malaria-prone areas are also expected to comply with the Malaria Control Program.
