In 2007, ExxonMobil, together with its current and retired employees, donated more than $24.7 million through company-sponsored workplace giving campaigns in the United States, Canada, and other countries.  In addition to United Way corporate gifts in the United States totaling $5.3 million, employees and retirees pledged more than $13.5 million to the United Way.  In Fairfax, Virginia, ExxonMobil and its employees donated more than $2.2 million to more than 400 charitable organizations through our Employee’s Favorite Charity Campaign.  Canadian employees and retirees pledged more than $2.2 million to the United Way, bringing the total corporate and employee donations in Canada to more than $3.3 million.

Our commitment to the United Way extends well beyond financial support.  Many ExxonMobil senior-level managers and retirees serve on boards and committees to help formulate strategies for successful programs.  Last year, ExxonMobil held Day of Caring volunteer events supporting United Way and other charitable organizations across the United States and in many locations around the world.  In Houston, Texas, more than 2,800 employees, retirees and their families volunteered at 72 United Way non-profit organizations.  In Australia, 270 employees participated in the annual ExxonMobil Day of Caring assisting 27 community groups in Victoria, Western Australia and Queensland.  The event, the largest corporate volunteering program in Australia, received a highly commendable award from the 2007 Volunteering Australia Award for Excellence in Corporate Volunteering.
