At ExxonMobil, we take our responsibilities to our shareholders, customers, employees and communities very seriously. We know that we are not judged by our words alone but by our actions.
We work very hard to ensure that the fundamental values of our company are not just understood by our staff but that they are reflected every day throughout our operations in the region.
Our approach includes a strong focus on ethics, careful environmental operations, continual attention to safety and health, and respect for human rights and cultural diversity.
Every employee in our region is expected to comply with ExxonMobil’s Standards of Business Conduct. The Standards are a comprehensive set of expectations that govern how we conduct our business both internally and externally.
A key element of our commitment to ethical behaviour is respect for the competition laws in the countries and territories in which we operate. Every year, we conduct training throughout the region to ensure that employees are aware of their and the Company’s obligations to comply with any local competition laws, as well as applicable antitrust legislation of the United States.
Employees who interact, or may potentially interact, with government officials are also trained in the Company’s expectations of ethical and honest dealings with governments. This includes the importance of complying with legislation in all relevant jurisdictions.
ExxonMobil encourages employees to ask questions, voice concerns, and make appropriate suggestions regarding the business practices of the Company. With a policy of open door communications, employees are encouraged to report any potential non-compliance issues to management. A hotline number has also been established in Australia so that employees can raise any potential concerns anonymously.
