----------------------------------------------------
In 2004 Erin graduated from the University of Adelaide with a double degree in Chemical Engineering and Mathematical & Computer Science. She commenced employment with ExxonMobil shortly after in February 2005. Erin's first role was within the Reservoir Surveillance Group, where she was responsible for surveillance of the oil production from the Tuna & West Tuna offshore platforms. She then spent 18 months co-ordinating the preparation and execution of a six well drilling campaign. Erin has since changed roles and now works with the Subsurface Engineering Group, where she currently is responsible for the integrity of all offshore oil and gas wells.
"I loved the idea of moving to Melbourne to start my career but at the same time was quite nervous. When I arrived the support I received in finding a permanent place to live was fantastic. Going into a petroleum engineering role and having no petroleum experience was daunting, but with all the training I received I began to get into some excellent engineering work."
"Exciting is definitely one way to describe my job. I love the chance to visit offshore platforms and get hands on experience. I currently provide technical support in diagnosing and implementing repair plans for all wells offshore with integrity issues. On the side I’m also chairing a program to implement new Subsurface technology in the Bass Strait. A new challenge to solve every day, as well as working with so many different people, ensures I enjoy coming to work each day. The roles I have rotated through so far in my threes years with ExxonMobil have been a lot of responsibility, but that was what attracted me to ExxonMobil in the first place. It was a chance to motivate and push myself. In addition, the opportunity to work overseas with the company in the future had a huge impact on my choice to work with ExxonMobil."
