Mobil Oil Australia is determined that these appointments are the right ones for you and for the company and consequently, the selection process is thorough and will take several weeks before employment offers are made. An outline of the selection process is detailed below to provide you with a guide of the steps involved.
Application

Once you have submitted your resume, you will receive an electronic acknowledgement confirming receipt of your application from our external recruitment service provider, KPMG.
Interviews
After the nominated closing date, KPMG and Mobil Oil Australia will review all of the applications for the respective positions. Should you be successful in securing an interview, you will be contacted to arrange a mutually convenient time for an interview.
Subsequently, you may be invited to attend further interviews where you will be introduced to other members of Mobil Oil Australia's selection team. This follow-up interview will present the opportunity to discuss the role in further detail and for Mobil Oil Australia to understand the skills and experience you will bring to the role.
If you have not been successful in securing an interview, you will receive a written notification from KPMG advising you to this effect.
Background Checks, Antitrust & Competition Compliance
Mobil Oil Australia has a policy to conduct police background and antitrust and competition compliance checks of individuals seeking employment with the company. Should you advance to this stage of the selection process, KPMG will send to you an Australian Federal Police (AFP) Form together with an Antitrust & Competition Law Compliance Guide which you will need to complete and return promptly.
Pre-Employment Medical
At an advanced stage of the selection process, you will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical and KPMG will organise this on your behalf with the most conveniently located of Mobil Oil Australia's preferred medical centres. Prior to attending the pre-employment medical, KPMG will send to you Mobil Oil Australia's Health Questionnaire which you will need to complete in full and take with you to the medical appointment. Additional instructions will be provided at the time of medical confirmation with you.
Reference Checking
KPMG will undertake reference checking on behalf of Mobil Oil Australia. KPMG will request referee details from you together with your consent to approach your referees. Ideally, at least one of your referees should be someone who has directly supervised you in your recent career. It is recommended that your resume contains at least three suitable referee details before you send in your application.
Remuneration Discussion
As the process advances, KPMG will contact you to clarify your existing remuneration and to provide guidance as to the level of remuneration you can expect when commencing as a Mobil employee. It is important that this discussion takes place to ensure that the remuneration that may be offered to you meets your requirements.
Employment Offer
Should you be successful in the selection process, a verbal employment offer will be made to you.
